The Seattle Review only publishes long poems, novellas, and long essays. Poetry submissions of less than ten pages in length, and prose submissions of less than forty pages, will be returned unread.

Poetry: 10-30 pages. The long poem can be:

  • a single long poem in its entirety
  • a self-contained excerpt from a book-length poem
  • a unified sequence or series of poems

Prose: 40-90 pages.

Fiction: 1 story, up to 6,000 words.

Prize in both genres: $1,000, publication in Enizagam, a “blurb” written by the judges, and a reading of your work broadcast online.

Fiction judge: Sarah Shun-lien Bynum.
